New
catalogues offer complete range of thermal management and EMI
extruded gaskets |

New catalogues have been introduced for our thermal
management products and EMI extruded gaskets. The catalogues contain
comprehensive physical, electrical, thermal and regulatory
information to enable you to select the most appropriate materials
for your applications.
Thermal management products are
detailed in a 60-page full colour catalogue that covers the
company's industry leading range of dispensed gap fillers and pads,
phase change materials, compounds, heat spreaders, greases and gels.
The catalogue will also shortly be available in French and German
language versions.
The 80-page, extruded EMI gasket catalogue
provides detailed information for conductive elastomer extruded
gaskets in dozens of standard and custom profiles. Also included is
a useful elastomer gasket design section to help in the selection of
the optimum gasket for different applications.

Thermal
gap-fillers combine high thermal performance with industry-leading
conformability for demanding applications with low closure
forces |
THERM-A-GAP
569 and 579 offer excellent conformability for applications that
require good thermal performance but have low-closure forces. Both
materials have the same high thermal performance as the existing 570
and 580 lines of gap-fillers but with increased
conformability.
THERM-A-GAP 569 has a thermal conductivity
figure of 1.5W/m-k and achieves a deflection figure of 20% at a
closure force of just 34kPa (5psi). THERM-A-GAP 579 meanwhile is the
softest material available on the market with a thermal conductivity
in the 3W/m-k range; it deflects by 22% at a closure force of 34kPa
(5psi).
Both materials are available in pre-formed
thicknesses of 0.02in. to 0.2in. (with custom thicknesses and
mouldings available on request), provide electrical insulation
(8KVac/ mm), and can be specified with a choice of either aluminium
foil or glass fibre carriers. Materials supplied on an aluminium
foil carrier incorporate a high strength, pressure sensitive acrylic
adhesive to allow permanent attachment to cold
surfaces.
THERM-A-GAP 569 and 579 pass NASA outgassing (UL
E595), are rated UL 94 V-0 for flammability, and are RoHS
compliant.

Chomerics introduces
electrically conductive coatings for EMI shielding
applications |

CHO-SHIELD® 576 and CHO-SHIELD 579 electrically
conductive epoxy coatings for shielding of electronic enclosures
offer performance of up to 60 – 80dB in the 30MHz to 1GHz
range.
The two component, silver-filled epoxy materials
provide excellent EMI and environmental protection, and may be
applied to a target surface using spray equipment or a brush. They
are dry to the touch in less than one hour at room temperature and
may be fully cured at elevated temperatures.
CHO-SHIELD 576
can be applied to glass, plastic or epoxy substrates and is suitable
for copper/tin plating. CHO-SHIELD 579 offers a low-VOC (volatile
organic compounds) rating of 357 grams/litre, 40% lower than its
predecessor.
Both materials have a volume resistivity of 0.06
ohm/sq. and a shelf life (at 24°C) of 9 months. |
